- Hiking in Armenia:
considered as the heart of civilisation between the
Arasse and Euphrates rivers, amid
nature and history, 10/11 days trekking in a country which is
particularly dear to me, rich in natural beauty, enchanting landscapes
and ancient churches, where a snow-capped mountain forever watches
over every corner of Armenia - Mount Ararat, 5,137 metres high, which
is said to have offered Noah’s Arc a landing place.
I graduated in Environmental Sciences and am working
as an Environmental Excursion Guide in Emilia-Romagna and
Tuscany. I am authorised to work professionally in both regions, and
am also a member of the AIGAE (Italian Association for Environmental
Excursion Guides) and the AGAT (Association of Environmental Guides in
Tuscany).
In Tuscany, I work mainly in the Province of Pisa,
for example the Migliarino-San Rossore-Massaciuccoli Park, the hills
around Pisa, and in the Province of Livorno, for example the Livorno
hills, the Cecina Valley, the splendid island in the Tuscan Archipelago
National Park (Capraia, Elba, Giglio, Giannutri) and the Province of Lucca
and the Apuan Alps.
In Emilia I work mainly in the Province of
Parma.
I have been working in this
field for almost nine years. It is a very
rewarding job, one which I have put my heart into, working with school
kids, and Italian and foreign tourists. I continue to be fascinated by
nature, which although seen many times is never the same, its strength,
vitality, colours, transformations and its incredible peace take you far
away, even though you may only be a stone’s throw from the city.
I believe that the desire to involve others in this
special world, which too often goes unnoticed, is what motivates people
to become guides. Succeeding in showing people nature’s spectacular
beauties and the relationship between man and nature, is the most
rewarding and satisfying aspect of our work.
There are many different paths which can be
followed, in the mountains or near the sea, naturalistic or also
nature-gastronomic tours, for serious trekkers or those who simply want to
stroll through nature’s beauties.
